Biography

Xosiyat Bobomurodova is not just a talented poetess, but also a knowledgeable pedagogue and teacher.

She was born in 1950 in the «Ibn Sino» collective farm of the Khatirchi district in the Navoi region. Her father, Mulla Bobomurod, was a well-respected, enlightened man with a charming personality who commanded the attention of the public.

Xosiyatxon first heard the names of Alisher Navoi, Jami, and Fuzuli from her father, became familiar with their ghazals, and would listen, spellbound until dawn, to works such as «One Thousand and One Nights» and «Chor Darvesh».

She finished secondary school in 1966 and studied at the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami.

Having been passionate about literature since her youth, Xosiyat transferred from the full-time to the correspondence department in 1967 due to life's hardships. Her professional career began in that same year; she worked as a primary school teacher at the age of seventeen, and as a school principal from the age of twenty-five.

Xosiyat's early poems appeared in the magazines «Guliston» and «Sharq Yulduzi». After she began working at the regional newspaper in 1978, a new opportunity for creative work arose.

Career

In 1979, the poetess's first poetry collection, titled «Daryodan Qatra», was published. That same year, she was accepted into the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. Following this, she created a number of poetry collections such as «Qalb Titrog‘i» (1984), «Turnalarim» (1984), «Samarqandga Maktublar» (1988), «Men Uzgan Gullar» (1992), and «Murod Qasri» (1997). Currently, Xosiyat Bobomurodova serves as the secretary of the Samarkand regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
